Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I am ashamed to say that it has been far too long since my last outfit post, but the festive season has come and gone, bringing with it weeks of hard work and intensive shopping. As you can see from the post, my Christmas was full of cheer especially when I unwrapped (that's right it was fully wrapped) my new bike! From the moment I locked eyes I was madly in love. So equipped with my Zimmermann soft tee, new Wrangler shorts and pony hair Tony Biancos I set off for my first ride today. I must also make mention to my gorgeous gold cuff bought from a small boutique.
Hope you enjoyed your Christmas, wherever you may be! And may you ring in the New Year with style <3

Outfit post soon to come, but in the mean time...

I have been eyeing off some of the pieces in Ellery's new Resort'12 collection. And came across this cute Christmas themed pic from them. Not long until the big day now!

Market Day

For all those in Adelaide avid of all things fashion, Gilles St Markets is a hot spot on the third Sunday of every month. Located at a primary school, budding young designers and collectors of all things vintage come out to play. As well as a number of one off stalls where groups sell their own, sometimes unworn, pieces. Each market day promises something new. And even if food tickles your fancy more than fashion, there are some cute pop up food stalls with some very talented people waiting to take your order. If you, like me, are not prepared to pay $8 for a sandwich, perhaps eating before you step out the door is wise. This market day again provided the goods, I went home with a skirt by label Keepsake, for a tiny $10. The stitching had come apart on the seam, but this is nothing a quick repair won't fix. Stay tuned folks!

Dear Diary...

2013 will be the year I finally get organised! (If the whole 21/12/12 doomsday prophecy thing doesn't play out.)I have purchased myself a diary. And what better way to motivate me to actually use it, than to buy the cutest diary I could find? I found this online through Little Paper Lane who specialise in all things cute and practical. When I wear my larger bags I plan to have the diary with me, as well as some of the usual things that call my bag home. My sunglasses are a must have, they are Ray Ban but not the typical Wayfarer style. And they are polarised, so fantastic for an Aussie summer. My Inglot lipstick also makes a regular appearance. And soon to hopefully be joining them; a Marc Jacobs wallet, on my Chrissy list!

Story of a Long Lost Dress

This floaty number has been floating around in my wardrobe, unworn, for too long. I purchased it over a year ago at a steal from an outlet store. It's a flirty, fresh dress in a gorgeous mix of apricot, light orange and beige coloured stripes in alternating fabrics. Perfect for a balmy nights pre Christmas dinner, I'm glad I finally gave this sweet dress a night out after it almost made my Ebay selling list.
The dress is by label Ladakh (but a few seasons old now) and you've seen the shoes (Tony Bianco) and the clutch (Kookai) in previous posts. As you can see I like to keep my accessories quite minimal. But I hereby make my New Years resolution to find some quirky jewellery to share with you all. (Now that's a New Years resolution I'm sure I'll be able to keep!)

Marl and Me

I'm sure every Aussie girl who has ever travelled to Europe can understand the feeling you get on your first shopping expedition when you step into Zara for the first time. Glamourous and oh so full of fashionable and above all affordable clothes, it's hard to know where to look first. I was unaware on that first, fateful shopping trip that I needn't be so thorough, digging through every single rack of clothing. I swear we saw at least 2 Zara stores in virtually every city we stopped by! But it was on the last leg of my European adventure (in Spain) that I bit the bullet and purchased these boyfriend style jeans I had wanted for so long. It was well worth the trouble having to stuff them into my already overflowing suitcase. They look great paired with a sloppy tank (Marl being my hue of choice) and a cute pair of heels. These Maurie and Eve heels I picked up at a sale for a mere $20. (I am still under the impression that they were incorrectly tagged). Not wanting to step out of the house without a hint of colour, a dark pink lip seals the deal on this casual outfit.

Skin

I promised myself once I was content with my attempt at a 'bikini bod' I would treat myself to some new bikinis. Alas, I fell in love with these Zimmermann bikinis pre bikini bod and with only one pair left in my size I took the plunge. As you can see they are nothing extravagant especially in terms of Zimmermann's swimwear but I was set on a pair with greater bust support and I love the subtle snake skin print. The bottoms are quite skimpy and not something I'd usually wear, but if anything it's greater motivation to get my little (or should I say big) butt to the gym pronto.

Summer Soiree

Hello all! In the spirit of giving, I give you a compilation of a few of my favourite fashion buys. This darling dress is by one of my favourite Aussie labels, Shakuhachi. Weird name, amazing designs and this little yellow dress is no exception. Jeffrey Campbell has totally en captured me (see skulltini post) and I have a feeling these babies will soon be in my wardrobe. But a top of my Christmas list (other than a new bike) is some fine Samantha Wills jewellery to layer together. Love, love, love this bracelet! New outfit post to come very soon! xo

Crazy Pants

The weather today has faired cooler than the past couple hot and humid days. But I figure that any excuse is good enough to don my favourite pair of crazy, colourful, printed pants. This beauty is by Alice McCalls label, House of Wilde. They are high waisted (great for us short people) and super comfortable, with a bit of stretch in them. Even though my parents howled of laughter when they first saw me in them (making some smart comment about being back in the 70's) I still love them and wear them all the time.

Skulltini

I am having dreams about these 'Skulltini' flats by Jeffrey Campbell. Unfortunately they are out of my size, but I have been keeping a keen eye on my email hoping they come back into stock. Even if little skulls adorning this on-trend styled shoe isn't your thing, jumping onto http://www.solestruck.com/ will be well worth your time.

Classico Pant

It's been a busy few weeks for this blogging pair, what with Uni exams and a couple of friends birthdays. But this hasn't limited our time spent trawling through online shops and Ebay to find some perfect holiday outfits. This Bec and Bridge 'Classico Pant' arrived on my doorstep just a few days ago and would you believe it I have already worn them twice? (I'm a big advocate of 'cost per wear'). I was quick to rush them to the tailors (the perils of being vertically challenged) and pleased that they are now the perfect length. The printed polka dot shirt was bought through The Iconic and is the label Elliatt. And the shoes are, once again, Tony Bianco. For a more casual look I think I'll team the wide leg pant with a cotton striped t-shirt and a pair of wedged shoes.

New Kicks

Faced with a 40+ degree day this week, coupled with the fact that my former sandals didn't survive my holiday, I thought it was time to invest in a new pair. My last ones were nude coloured, picked up for $10 (slightly faulty) at a Globalize sale years ago. Despite this they still attracted compliments and did not fail me once. So where to for my newies? I entrusted Tony Bianco to provide the goods and once again I was not disappointed. These black sandals are proving to be comfy. And the black pony hair with silver buckles give them a bit of an edge <3

Tee's Please

Designer tshirt for $39? I was as shocked as you are. Lara Bingle and Ebay Fashion have teamed up and a number of well known designers are on board to create an affordable and above all fashionable tshirt line. This is Bec and Bridge's interpretation and my personal favourite. I love the bold print, which teamed with my Zara leather skirt, gives an edgy look. My old faithful sportsgirl watch also makes an appearance.
Be sure to check out the other designs, but be quick, they're limited editions! http://fashion.ebay.com.au/gallery/event/designer-partnership

Seeing Double

Here's my co-blogger looking marvellous in Sass and Bide's Martina dress. She recently wore it for a 21st birthday party and wouldn't you know it, another guest was wearing the same dress! **Cue shocked gasps** The other guest was wearing the black and white version and even though this print is a stand out, they managed to look very different. The other guest wore hers belted at the waist and with big statement jewellery. While this little blogger kept it simple, adorning it with the rose gold Tony Bianco's you see here.

PS. A little birdy informs me this stunning no. is now on sale at The Iconic, with free shipping and super speedy delivery, why wouldn't you? <3

Yay, you can now follow us!

Found! The follow widget. If you like what you see divert your eyes to the right of your screen.. yep, that's it, just a little further. And click the follow icon. More outfit posts to come peeps!

Roses are Maroon, Violets are Blue

This dress is by the aptly named label, LOVER. Personally I couldn't dream up a more romantic dress. The beautiful lace is even more dramatic in this maroon hue and contrasts brilliantly against the skin coloured slip beneath. Paired with rose gold Tony Bianco's, we at The Guise have fallen madly in love with this little number.

From where I would rather be

These are trying times for University students around the country as most of us go into hiding, trying desperately to prepare for exams. When all the chocolate in the house has been eaten and all old embarrassing Myspace profiles have been stalked; out come the holiday photos to help me procrastinate. This was one of my favourite days, sailing the Greek Islands. And in what better way to do it than in my Fairground (by Alice Mccall) cropped top. I had no idea just how 'cropped' this top was when I purchased it online. But I figured aboard a sailing boat in the blistering Greek sunlight was the perfect occasion to bear a little more skin than usual.

Taste of what's to Come...

So much to come in the next few weeks! As summer and party seasons begins we have a heap of dresses to get you all excited including Sass Bide, Lover and this little gem by the amazing Italian label, PINKO. Watch this space :)

A Bit of Shade... And a Big Hello!

You've probably noticed that my fellow blogger has put in all the hard yards on The Guise... So I've finally got my butt into gear and decided to share one of my most recent purchases! I came across (and fell in love with) this cap whilst lost in the world of Instagram. The cute floral pattern had me sold, literally. Sunday Somewhere have 3 styles to choose from and with free shipping, they make it very hard to say no! Check them out here.

Shrimp, anyone?

With racing spirit about to be in full bloom as Melbourne's Spring Racing Carnival kicks into gear my money is on the 'fashions on the field' to provide a few surprises. Though it seems no hemline or amount of bare skin would cause a stir these days, this was certainly not the case in the 1960's where supermodel Jean Shrimpton caused a stir in her white mini dress. More shocking it is now to come across an elegant midi-dress at most Australian race meets, this is my somewhat classy interpretation of Jean's iconic Australian moment in fashion.

Beautiful and carefree Jean Shrimpton at Derby Day.

Bird Crazy

What a fitting first outfit post this is! In celebration of our new Twitter account this Sass and Bide dress seemed the obvious first choice. The bright colours against the white backdrop of the dress bring out my poor excuse of a European summer tan. And the length at the back of the dress means that it can double as something to wear to more formal occasions. For all of you nature lovers, it is also National Bird Week from the 22-28 of October. Quite frankly birds scare me a little, so I think this will be the only bird watching I will participate in. Enjoy and be sure to follow us on Twitter.

A big thank you to our beautiful photographer and Ms Lara Bingle who boosted our views by retweeting us during the week.

Race Day

This morning I flicked open to the fashion pages of my local newspaper and saw the beautiful Miss Lara Bingle donning a full length, black pantsuit by Camilla and Marc at this weekend's Caulfield Cup. Even though I liked the pops of colour (check out Samantha Harris in a flattering canary yellow number), I liked Lara's smart and sophisticated look. Funnily enough when my fellow blogger and I attended the Races earlier this year, I too went for a black pantsuit, mine by Maurie and Eve. I picked it up from a boutique sale for a crazy $20! What do you think?
