Senselessly In Love

Sydney-based, family run Senso is fast becoming the go to label for innovative, well-crafted Aussie footwear. Perhaps I am intoxicated by the smell of my new leather boots, but this may just be the best purchase I have ever made. Unarguably the black leather boot is a staple winter accessory. It is a foundation upon which countless outfits are built.  But this boot offers more; its eye-catching design is a fan favourite (I had to pre-order and wait up to three weeks to receive it) and with leather upper and lining it’s very comfortable. Though going sockless irks me a little, the effect, I assure you, is well worth it. Check them out, along with countless more on Senso’s online shop, they have many interpretations of this charming design.

Bec and Bridge

Zara

Following up on a previous post, entitled 'Fake It!,' I thought that finding cheaper alternatives to pricey designer options could become something of a theme for reoccurring posts? Let me know what you think. In the mean time here is the Palazzo trouser by Zara, retailing at only 39.99 GBP, it looks very similar to the Bec and Bridge interpretation featuring in this outfit post from a little while back.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond

Shakuhachi's crystalized cut off shorts are as cool as they come, literally. They are quite short. (But in no way are they 'cheeky shorts!') As winter approaches I regret that they'll soon make their way to the back of my wardrobe, but I'm sure they'll come out to play next summer. This embellishment trend isn't going anywhere, well not if I can help it!

Forever 21

Finding the perfect 21st dress is like finding the perfect partner. It’s a life choice and important one at that. Compatibility is key; like your perfect partner, your perfect dress must compliment you and bring out your best attributes. However if rom-coms have taught me anything love doesn’t always come easy.
This Sass and Bide number had been on my radar for some time before the search for a 21st outfit had even begun. But with a hefty price tag and a cut that I normally steer clear of I was wary of making the online purchase.

As time flew by, as it tends to do when an important event is coming up, I started getting desperate. But I still had a clear idea of what I wanted in a dress; classic, memorable, a tad sexy and above all, different (can you see where this is going?) I’m not sure what made me come back to this dress; perhaps it was the large discount on the original price. But all I know is that when I tried it on for the first time I felt the familiar air of excitement and the urge to whip out my debit card.

Fake It!

There is nothing like the real thing when it comes to fashion, or is there? When the weekly budget simply does not allow me to splurge on a big ticket fashion item for the weekend's 21st/engagement/general partying, a cheaper knock off can sometimes do the trick. Check out this Asos find that emulates Sass and Bide's Martina dress (also available in a black and white version), which featured on The Guise not so long ago.
